Colorado Springs, CO (January 23, 2026) – One person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash on January 22 at the intersection of E Pikes Peak Ave and N Hancock Ave. The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that alcohol is believed to have played a role in the incident.
The crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle reportedly failed to yield and struck the back of a utility vehicle. Emergency responders arrived promptly, and the injured individual was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Eastbound lanes of Pikes Peak Ave were closed at Hancock Ave for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash. The roadway reopened around 8:00 p.m.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision and have indicated that alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
