What Factors Are Reviewed After a Fatal Crash in St. Louis County?
After a fatal crash, several factors are typically examined to better understand how the collision occurred. In cases where a vehicle goes out of control, roadway surface conditions, speed, and vehicle stability are often reviewed. Investigators may also look at whether the driver was wearing a seat belt, especially when an ejection is reported.
The position of both vehicles, skid marks, and debris patterns can help reconstruct the sequence of events. Damage to the front, side, or rear of each car may provide clues about the angle and force of impact.
Medical findings can also clarify how injuries occurred. In multi-vehicle crashes, reviewing hospital records and scene evidence together can help build a clearer picture of what happened in the moments before the collision.
