How Lane Changes Can Lead to Motorcycle Collisions
Lane changes are a common factor in crashes involving motorcycles, as smaller vehicles can be harder for drivers to see. Blind spots and quick maneuvers can increase the risk if drivers fail to check their surroundings carefully.
Motorcycles are particularly vulnerable because they lack the protection of enclosed vehicles. Even a minor collision can result in riders being thrown from the bike, leading to injuries.
Drivers can help prevent these incidents by signaling early, checking mirrors and blind spots, and allowing adequate space when changing lanes. Awareness of motorcycles on the road is key to reducing these types of crashes.
