Mountain View, MO (March 9, 2026) – A 20-year-old man from Eminence and a 73-year-old man from Birch Tree were injured on Sunday morning, March 8, in a crash at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Highway 17 near Mountain View.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the northbound driver of a 2009 Honda Civic attempted to cross U.S. 60 when it was struck by a westbound 2012 Jeep Compass.
The Jeep driver, the 73-year-old man from Birch Tree, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ozark Healthcare in West Plains. The Civic driver, the 20-year-old man from Eminence, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mercy St. Francis in Mountain View.
Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, and more details will be released as they become available.
