How Do Rural Highway Intersections Contribute to Crashes?
Intersections such as U.S. Highway 75 and 126th Road can create risk due to turning movements and vehicles entering from side roads. When injury accidents are reported in Jackson County, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow.
Highway traffic typically moves at higher speeds, which can make it harder for drivers entering the roadway to judge distance and timing. Even a small miscalculation when pulling into traffic can lead to a collision.
Limited visibility and fewer traffic controls in rural areas may also increase the chance of crashes. Drivers must rely more on clear sightlines and careful timing when crossing or merging onto busy highways.
