Why Head-on Collisions at Intersections Can Be Dangerous
Head-on crashes at intersections can be especially severe due to the angles and speeds involved. When vehicles approach from different directions and fail to align properly, the impact can be significant.
These types of crashes may occur when a driver misjudges distance, makes an improper turn, or enters an intersection at the wrong time. Even partial head-on impacts can lead to serious consequences because the front of a vehicle absorbs most of the impact force.
Traffic flow, visibility, and timing all influence how safely drivers move through intersections. When these factors do not align, the risk of a serious collision increases, especially on roads with steady traffic.
