Understanding the risks of multi-vehicle intersection crashes
Collisions at intersections often result in serious injuries because vehicles can collide from multiple directions, sometimes redirecting other vehicles into additional lanes. Running red lights dramatically increases the chance of severe crashes, particularly during busy morning traffic.
Emergency response at multi-vehicle crashes requires coordination among police, EMS, and fire units to treat the injured, secure the scene, and manage traffic. Drivers can reduce risks by obeying traffic signals, staying alert, and avoiding impaired or distracted driving.
