St. Louis, MO (March 26, 2026) – One adult was injured after a car crashed into a car dealership following a multi-vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 44 in South City.
The crash occurred before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, near the Hampton exit. Emergency units responded after reports that several vehicles had collided on the interstate, and one vehicle had left the roadway.
Preliminary information indicates that a driver swerved to avoid a truck that had lost a tire, striking another vehicle before leaving the interstate and crashing into Ackerman Toyota. The injured adult was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The dealership was open at the time, and staff described hearing a loud crash as the vehicle went through the fence and struck the building. The damaged area was later secured, and clean-up crews boarded up the broken glass.
