What Is Usually Reviewed After a Head-On Crash on a Bridge?
After a head-on collision on a bridge, early reviews often focus on lane position, traffic direction, and whether either vehicle crossed the center line. Bridge crashes can be more complex due to narrow lanes, reduced shoulders, and limited space for drivers to avoid hazards.
Investigators also commonly review road surface conditions, lighting, and whether speed or alcohol may have affected driver response. Damage patterns on both vehicles can help show the angle of impact and where the crash first occurred.
When a child passenger is involved, seat placement and restraint use may also help explain how injuries happened. In many cases, later roadway camera footage, witness statements, and scene photos help fill in details that were unclear in the initial report.
