Understanding Intersection Crashes and Seat Belt Safety
Collisions at intersections can be particularly dangerous due to crossing traffic and limited reaction time. Vehicles traveling at different speeds may have difficulty avoiding an impact if one driver fails to yield or misjudges the distance.
Seat belts significantly reduce the risk of death or serious injury during crashes. Not wearing a seat belt can increase the risk of fatal injuries, especially in collisions with larger or faster-moving vehicles.
Emergency responders focus on securing the scene, providing medical care, and investigating the factors that contributed to the crash to prevent similar accidents.
