What Pedestrians Should Know About Sidewalk and Driveway Accidents
Crashes involving pedestrians on sidewalks often occur when vehicles exit private driveways or parking areas. Limited visibility and sudden vehicle movements can put pedestrians at risk.
Older adults may be especially vulnerable to serious injuries, even in low-speed impacts. Emergency responders prioritize medical attention for the injured and secure the area to prevent additional accidents.
Drivers should exercise caution when entering or exiting driveways, and pedestrians should remain alert near areas where vehicles may suddenly appear.
