Why Turning Collisions Can Be Especially Dangerous for Motorcyclists
Crashes involving turning vehicles can be particularly serious for motorcyclists. Motorcycles are smaller and may be harder for other drivers to see, especially at intersections.
When a vehicle turns across the path of a motorcycle, the rider may have little time to react. This can lead to direct impacts that result in severe injuries.
Intersections often require drivers to quickly judge distance and speed. Staying alert and checking carefully for oncoming traffic can help reduce the risk of these types of collisions.
