How Overnight Crashes Can Lead to Extended Road Closures
Crashes that happen overnight often require extended investigations into the morning hours. Fewer vehicles on the road at night can allow higher speeds, which may increase the severity of collisions.
When serious injuries are involved, crews may take additional time to document the scene. This can include measuring impact points and examining vehicle positions.
Street closures help protect both responders and drivers while this work is completed. Traffic delays may continue until the roadway is fully cleared and safe to reopen.
