What Factors Are Often Involved in Pedestrian Crashes on Busy Roads?
Roads like Frayser Boulevard and Rangeline Road often carry steady traffic, especially in the evening. When pedestrians enter the roadway outside designated crossings, the risk of a collision increases.
Driver visibility and reaction time play a role in these situations. At night or in low-light conditions, it may be harder to see someone crossing unexpectedly, reducing the time available to avoid a crash.
Traffic flow and road design can also influence safety. Areas without clear crossing points may prompt pedestrians to cross at different locations, increasing the risk of vehicle incidents.
