Firefighters entered the building and found a fire burning in a first-floor apartment, spreading into a common hallway. The fire was brought under control in roughly 30 minutes.
Six people were evaluated and treated at the scene. One person was taken to a nearby hospital for burns, and three others were taken in for smoke inhalation. Two additional people declined both treatment and transport.
