Addison, IL (April 18, 2026) – A serious multi-vehicle crash caused significant disruptions early Friday morning in Addison.
According to reports, the collision occurred on southbound Route 83 approximately a half mile north of Interstate 290. Emergency crews responded to the scene and shut down southbound lanes near 3rd Avenue while they worked to manage the incident.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any injuries were reported or what factors may have led to the crash. Images from the scene showed at least one heavily damaged SUV as officials directed traffic away from the area.
Drivers in the west suburban area experienced delays as crews remained on site clearing the roadway and investigating the incident.
