What Factors Can Lead to Cross-Path Crashes Between Vehicles on Two-Lane Roads?
Cross-path crashes often occur when one vehicle enters the path of another traveling in the opposite direction. This can occur due to sudden steering, loss of control, or drifting out of a lane.
Road conditions may influence how a vehicle handles. Curves, uneven pavement, or limited shoulder space can make it harder to maintain proper lane position.
Driver condition is another factor to consider. Fatigue or reduced alertness can affect steering control and reaction time. When vehicles meet head-on or at an angle, the impact can result in serious damage and injuries.
