Crashes Involving Large Trucks Can Lead to Fires and Long Closures
Collisions involving semi-trucks can result in serious damage due to the size and weight of the vehicles. When a smaller vehicle is involved, the impact can be especially severe.
Fires may occur after a crash if fuel systems are damaged or if there is friction from the impact. This adds another layer of risk and often requires additional response efforts to control and extinguish the flames.
Road closures are common in these situations. Crews need time to manage hazards, investigate the crash, and remove damaged vehicles. This process can take several hours before traffic can safely resume.
