Head-On Collisions Often Result in Severe Vehicle Damage
Head-on crashes occur when two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collide. These types of accidents often lead to significant damage because the force of impact is combined from both vehicles.
Road conditions, lane departure, or driver error can contribute to these crashes. Even a brief moment of crossing into oncoming traffic can result in a serious situation, especially on roads without barriers.
Extrication may be needed when vehicle damage traps occupants inside. Emergency crews use specialized tools to safely remove those who cannot exit on their own. The level of damage often affects how long it takes to clear the scene and reopen the roadway.
