Pedestrian Crashes on Highways Lead to Severe Outcomes
Pedestrian crashes on high-speed roadways frequently result in serious or fatal injuries due to the speed and force involved in the impact.
Highways such as Texas State Highway 360 are designed primarily for vehicle traffic and often have limited pedestrian access. When a person enters the roadway, drivers may have very little time to react.
Investigators examining pedestrian crashes typically review factors such as lighting conditions, vehicle speed, roadway design, and the sequence of events leading up to the collision. Authorities will continue gathering evidence to determine exactly how the incident occurred near East Avenue J.
