Why Are Motorcycle Crashes So Severe?
Motorcycle crashes frequently result in more serious injuries compared to collisions involving only passenger vehicles. Unlike drivers in enclosed vehicles, motorcyclists have far less physical protection in the event of an impact.
Roadways such as Fort Campbell Boulevard often carry a mix of motorcycles, passenger vehicles, and commercial traffic. At busy intersections like Faith Drive, sudden turns, lane changes, or misjudged distances can increase the risk of collisions.
Because riders are directly exposed to the roadway and surrounding traffic, even moderate-speed crashes can lead to serious injuries. Investigators reviewing motorcycle crashes typically examine factors such as vehicle positioning, right-of-way, and roadway conditions to determine how the collision occurred.
