We are thinking of the injured pedestrian as they receive medical care.
Why Pedestrian Crashes Often Occur at Busy Intersections
Intersections are common locations for pedestrian accidents because vehicles and people must share the same space while following traffic signals. When drivers and pedestrians move through an intersection simultaneously, timing becomes critical.
Traffic signals are designed to organize movement, but crashes may occur when someone crosses against a signal or when drivers fail to notice pedestrians entering the roadway. Reduced visibility at night can also make it harder for drivers to see someone crossing.
Road design, traffic volume, and the presence of crosswalks can also affect how pedestrians and vehicles interact. These factors often influence the likelihood of collisions at busy intersections in urban areas.
