What Factors Are Often Involved in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crashes?
Pedestrian crashes can happen when drivers fail to see someone walking along or near the roadway. Low visibility at night and limited lighting can make it harder to spot people, especially on roads without sidewalks.
Impaired driving can also increase the risk of these incidents. Alcohol can affect reaction time, judgment, and awareness, making it more difficult for drivers to respond to hazards.
When a driver leaves the scene, it can delay emergency response and medical care. Quick assistance from bystanders or other drivers can play a key role in helping injured pedestrians receive aid as soon as possible.
