What Happens During Multi-Vehicle Interstate Accidents
Multi-vehicle crashes on interstates can quickly create major traffic disruptions. High speeds and limited reaction time increase the risk of chain-reaction collisions, where one impact leads to others.
Emergency crews often close multiple lanes to safely manage the scene, provide medical care, and remove vehicles and debris. Traffic detours are typically recommended to prevent additional accidents.
Investigators examine vehicle positions, roadway conditions, and witness statements to determine how the crash occurred and how it can be prevented in the future.
