How Intersection Crashes Can Turn Deadly
Crashes at intersections often happen when drivers fail to follow traffic signals. Running a red light can lead to side-impact collisions, which are especially dangerous because vehicles offer limited protection on the sides.
These types of crashes can occur even when one driver is following traffic rules. A vehicle entering on a green light may have little time to react if another driver fails to stop.
Traffic signals are designed to control vehicle flow and reduce conflict points. When they are ignored, the risk of severe or fatal crashes increases, particularly at busy intersections.
