Why Pedestrian and Roadside Worker Crashes Can Be Severe
Collisions involving pedestrians or roadside workers can result in serious injuries even at low speeds. Limited protection and sudden impacts make it easy for a person to be thrown or struck by a vehicle’s parts.
Visibility plays a key role in preventing such accidents. Factors like headlights, glare, or roadway conditions can reduce a driver’s ability to see someone standing at the edge of the road.
Emergency responders often provide immediate medical attention at the scene. Rapid care, along with safe vehicle operation and awareness, can help reduce the severity of injuries in such incidents.
