What Makes Motorcycle Crashes on Main Roads Especially Dangerous?
Motorcycle crashes on main roads like Route 6 can be severe due to traffic speed and the mix of vehicle types. Motorcycles are smaller and less visible, which can increase the risk of a collision with larger vehicles.
When crashes happen at higher speeds, the impact can lead to serious injuries. Riders may be thrown from the motorcycle or suffer direct impact without much protection.
Road design, traffic flow, and driver awareness all influence how these crashes occur. Intersections and busy stretches of roadway can increase the chances of a collision, especially when drivers are turning or merging into traffic.
