What Factors Can Contribute to Pedestrian Crashes at Intersections?
Intersections such as Avenue O and Ocean Avenue can create risk due to turning movements. When a serious crash is reported in Brooklyn, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow and secure the area.
Pedestrian crashes often happen when vehicles turn across walking paths. Drivers may focus on traffic signals or oncoming cars and fail to notice someone crossing, especially in busy areas.
Road conditions can also affect visibility. Construction zones or missing markings may make it harder for both drivers and pedestrians to clearly see where to stop or cross, increasing the chance of a collision.
