Entrapment Crashes and Highway Safety
Crashes involving large commercial vehicles can result in severe damage and complicated rescue operations, especially when occupants become trapped inside heavily damaged vehicles. Specialized rescue crews often use hydraulic tools and other equipment to safely extricate victims from wreckage.
Major highway crashes can also create extended traffic backups and increase the risk of secondary collisions. Drivers are reminded to maintain safe following distances and remain alert when traveling near large trucks and work vehicles.
