Grain Bin Entrapment Dangers
Grain bin incidents are among the most hazardous agricultural emergencies. Flowing grain can act similarly to quicksand, trapping individuals within seconds and making rescue efforts extremely difficult. Victims can become engulfed or suffocate due to the pressure and movement of the grain.
Safety experts emphasize the importance of shutting down equipment before entering bins, using proper harness systems, and ensuring trained rescue personnel are available during maintenance operations. These tragic incidents highlight the serious risks faced by agricultural workers every year.
