Carson, CA (January 30, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash involving a child occurred Friday afternoon on the northbound side of I-405 at the Avalon Blvd onramp in Carson, prompting an emergency response and triggering a search for the fleeing driver.
The incident took place shortly after 12:00 p.m. and involved a black Chevrolet Trailblazer and an unidentified second vehicle. Reports from the California Highway Patrol indicate that the crash happened on the right shoulder of the onramp, and a child was reportedly injured as a result of the impact. The extent of the child’s injuries has not yet been confirmed, but paramedics were alerted and sent to the scene to render aid.
Following the collision, the driver of the unknown vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived.
