How Rollover Crashes Affect Vehicle Occupants
Rollover crashes can be particularly dangerous because they often involve rapid changes in direction and impact. Occupants may be thrown against the interior of the vehicle, which can lead to serious injuries even if seatbelts are worn.
Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, like SUVs, are more prone to rolling over during sudden maneuvers or collisions. Emergency responders may need to carefully stabilize vehicles before removing passengers to prevent further injury.
Even when no one is ejected, multiple injuries can occur due to contact with hard surfaces, windows, or other passengers inside the vehicle. Quick medical attention is crucial to address trauma and internal injuries.
