Chicago, IL (January 18, 2026) – An elderly man was reportedly injured in a car crash on Friday evening near the intersection of East 79th Street and South Indiana Avenue on Chicago’s South Side.
The incident occurred around 6:34 p.m. on January 16. According to dispatch audio, the driver was involved in a collision and remained at the scene, waiting for assistance in a black SUV. Fire crews initially responded but had already returned to quarters by the time police checked in with the injured party.
While the exact nature of the man’s injuries has not been confirmed, he indicated he had been waiting some time following the crash. Additional units were sent to ensure he received proper evaluation and care.
