Why Hit-and-Run Crashes Involving Young Riders Are Especially Dangerous
Hit-and-run crashes involving scooters or small vehicles can result in severe injuries due to limited protection. Riders are often exposed to direct impact and may be thrown onto the roadway.
When a driver leaves the scene, it can make it harder to understand what happened quickly. This may delay key details that could help explain how the crash occurred.
Urban streets with steady traffic and limited space can increase the risk for young riders. Visibility, speed, and awareness all affect how safely vehicles and riders share the road.
