Chippewa Twp, MI (January 26, 2026) – Two people were injured on Saturday afternoon in a collision involving a parked delivery vehicle along Chippewa Drive near Merritt Avenue, according to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 12:05 p.m. after receiving reports of a rear-end crash. Authorities stated that a delivery vehicle was stopped on the roadside with its hazard lights activated when a passenger vehicle approached and struck it from behind.
The car involved in the crash was carrying two passengers, a 63-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, both of whom sustained injuries in the impact. Emergency crews transported both individuals to Corewell Hospital in Big Rapids for medical treatment. The severity of their injuries was not disclosed, but both drivers involved were reported to be uninjured.
Investigators remained on scene to examine the circumstances of the crash. It is unclear whether speed, distraction, or other factors played a role in the incident.
