Why Head-on Collisions Often Cause Serious Harm
Head-on collisions can be severe because the forces from both vehicles often meet directly at the front. This type of impact can damage the passenger area and increase the risk of injury to drivers and passengers.
Rollover crashes can add another layer of danger. A vehicle may strike the road more than once, and people inside can be injured by shifting forces, broken glass, or contact with the vehicle’s interior. Seat belts can help reduce the risk of ejection and serious injury.
When someone is stuck inside a vehicle, responders may need extra time to reach them safely. Medical crews may also check for head, neck, chest, and back injuries before moving the person.
