Colorado Springs, CO (January 28, 2026) – A DUI-related crash involving two vehicles sent multiple people, including two children, to the hospital on the night of January 26. The collision occurred around 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Powers Blvd and Palmer Park Blvd and led to a lengthy road closure as police investigated the scene.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), Kevin Riley was arrested in connection with the crash. Police reported that Riley was driving one of the vehicles involved, while a second vehicle carried another adult driver and two children. All individuals involved were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Southbound Powers Blvd remained shut down for several hours following the crash while officers documented the scene and cleared debris. The investigation revealed that alcohol and reckless driving were contributing factors in the collision.
Riley was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including vehicular assault, DUI, reckless driving, and a weapons-related offense. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
