A section of Johnson’s Road was closed for several hours between Route 53 and the area of the Grassflat Moose Lodge. Officials later confirmed that all roads had reopened.
The crash remains under investigation, and more details may be released as authorities continue their review. Our condolences go out to those affected by this serious crash.
Why Dirt Bike and Vehicle Crashes Can Be Severe
Crashes involving dirt bikes and other vehicles can cause serious injury because dirt bike riders have little physical protection during impacts. Unlike people inside cars, riders are not surrounded by a vehicle frame, airbags, or seat belts.
A collision with a larger vehicle can throw a rider from the bike or cause direct contact with the road. Head, chest, back, and leg injuries are common concerns after this type of crash. Protective gear may reduce some harm, but it cannot prevent every injury.
Road closures can last for hours after a serious crash. Crews may need time to help injured people, examine the scene, move damaged vehicles, and ensure the road is safe before traffic resumes.
