Vacaville, CA (July 8, 2026) – A bicyclist was hurt after a traffic collision involving a California Highway Patrol motorcycle on eastbound I-80 near the Leisure Town Road off-ramp in Vacaville on July 5.
According to dispatch reports, the collision happened shortly before 7:45 a.m. in lanes where traffic had come to a stop. Initial information indicated that a CHP motorcycle and a bicycle were involved.
Tow trucks were requested for both the CHP motorcycle and a Hyundai Kona that reportedly had major front-end damage. By about 9:00 a.m., three lanes had reopened while the No. 4 lane remained closed for cleanup. The identity of the bicyclist and the extent of the person’s injuries have not been released. The cause of the collision is still being examined, and additional information may be released as the review continues.
