Dayton, OH (February 2, 2026) – An accident involving three vehicles, including two police cruisers, caused disruptions on Interstate 75 early on Sunday morning in the Dayton area.
The incident took place on I-75 near West Riverview Avenue as officers were involved in an active pursuit connected to a reported stolen vehicle originating out of Trotwood. During the event, a Franklin Police Department officer traveling near mile marker 55 reportedly lost control of their cruiser under winter roadway conditions.
Authorities indicated the police vehicle first struck a snowbank before colliding with the rear of a trailer and then impacting another cruiser. The sequence of events resulted in damage to multiple vehicles along the interstate.
Emergency responders from Dayton and surrounding agencies arrived to manage the scene and assist those involved. One individual sustained a variety of injuries described by officials as minor. Medical personnel evaluated the injured party, and no life-threatening conditions were reported in connection with the accident.
Traffic along I-75 was affected for a period of time as crews worked to clear the roadway and document the scene. The accident remains under investigation as officials continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the pursuit and resulting collisions.
