How E-Bike Crashes Can Impact Pedestrians in Public Areas
E-bikes have become more common in parks, on boardwalks, and along beaches. While they offer convenient transportation, they can travel faster than traditional bicycles, especially in crowded spaces.
In areas with heavy foot traffic, including families with small children, sudden movements can increase the risk of collisions. Young children may change direction quickly or may not see an approaching rider in time to move out of the way.
Because e-bikes are heavier than standard bikes, even a low-speed impact can cause injuries. Shared spaces near beaches and parks require riders and pedestrians to stay alert to reduce the chance of accidents.
