What Information Helps Explain a Serious Intersection Crash?

Serious crashes at intersections can involve several factors that help explain how the accident happened. Roadway design, traffic signals, vehicle positions, and damage patterns may provide useful information about the sequence of events. The time of the crash can also help establish traffic and visibility conditions.

Witness accounts may provide additional details about what drivers or passengers saw before the collision. Photos and video from nearby businesses, homes, or traffic systems may also help show vehicle movements. Information about the vehicles can include their direction of travel, point of impact, and the extent of damage. Weather and roadway conditions may also be considered when reviewing a crash. Together, these details can help provide a clearer picture of what occurred at an intersection.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
