Douglass Township, PA (January 15, 2026) – A serious motor vehicle accident involving entrapment and a vehicle fire occurred on Douglass Dr south of the Police Station on January 14. Emergency crews from Douglass Township Fire Department and local EMS responded immediately to assist those involved in the crash.
The incident involved a single vehicle that caught fire after leaving the roadway. First responders worked quickly to extinguish the flames and safely extricate the trapped occupant from the vehicle. Paramedics assessed the individual for a variety of injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital for further care.
Additional responders secured the scene and managed traffic while fire crews ensured the roadway was safe for other drivers. Witnesses reported seeing smoke and flames as the vehicle came to rest near the roadside.
Authorities are investigating the factors that contributed to the crash, including whether road conditions or vehicle issues played a role. The roadway remained partially blocked for several hours as crews completed the rescue and cleanup.
