Why Motorcycle Collisions Result in Injuries
Motorcycle crashes frequently lead to injuries due to the limited protection riders have compared to occupants in passenger vehicles. Even at lower speeds, the impact of a collision can result in significant harm.
Intersections are common locations for these types of crashes because vehicles may turn across the path of an oncoming motorcycle. Limited visibility or misjudging speed can also contribute to these incidents.
Protective gear, such as helmets and padded clothing, can help reduce injury severity. However, riders remain more exposed to impact forces than drivers inside enclosed vehicles.
