Why Hit-and-Run Crashes Involving Vulnerable Road Users Are Especially Serious
Hit-and-run incidents involving pedestrians or mobility device users often present unique challenges for investigators. These individuals have limited protection, which can make even low-speed impacts result in significant injuries.
After a driver leaves the scene, identification often depends on witness statements, surveillance footage, or physical evidence left behind. These details can be critical in locating the vehicle involved.
Injuries such as head trauma require prompt medical evaluation, even when symptoms appear delayed. Early treatment can help reduce complications and improve recovery outcomes.
