Fairfax County, VA (May 14, 2026) – A crash involving multiple vehicles occurred on Wednesday along Richmond Highway (Rte 1) near Lorton Road in Lorton. Emergency units responded after a stolen delivery truck was involved in a collision that left two people injured and caused major traffic disruption in the area.
Investigators report that an Amazon delivery truck was stolen near the intersection of Backlick Road and Richmond Highway in Fort Belvoir earlier in the day. The vehicle was later driven to the Lorton area, where it became involved in a crash with a Nissan Altima along Route 1. Several vehicles were affected during the incident, leading to extended road closures.
The suspected driver of the stolen truck, a man, and a woman driving the Nissan Altima were both injured in the crash. Emergency units transported both individuals to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The man was also taken into custody following a medical evaluation.
