What Investigators Review in Early-Morning Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crashes
After early-morning hit-and-run crashes involving bicyclists, investigators typically focus on roadway visibility, lighting conditions, and traffic flow at the time of the incident. These factors help establish how clearly a cyclist and an approaching vehicle can be seen.
Evidence such as tire marks, debris patterns, and nearby surveillance footage is often reviewed to determine the direction and speed of the vehicle involved. Witness statements, when available, can also help narrow down vehicle descriptions.
In many cases, investigators also examine the cyclist’s exact position on the roadway before impact. This helps reconstruct how the crash occurred and whether the rider was stationary or in motion.
