Holly Township, MI (July 9, 2026) – Four members of a family were killed in a crash on southbound Interstate 75 near East Holly Road in Holly Township on Tuesday, July 7. The collision led to criminal charges against a 27-year-old Virginia man following the deadly incident.
According to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, the crash occurred when the man was allegedly driving a Ford F-250 southbound on Interstate 75 at speeds exceeding 90 mph while weaving through traffic. Prosecutors allege the truck struck a disabled Chrysler 300 that was parked along the roadway.
The occupants of the Chrysler were identified as 23-year-old Zakeria Sharon Dodson, 24-year-old Tieree Powell, a 3-year-old, and a 2-year-old. All four died as a result of the crash. Prosecutors also allege the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was more than three times the legal limit.
The 27-year-old appeared in Oakland County District Court on Tuesday, July 7, where he was arraigned on four counts of second-degree murder and four counts of operating while intoxicated, causing death. The court denied bond, and a probable cause conference is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14. The case remains under review by authorities.
