Interstate Crashes and Morning Traffic Delays
Crashes during morning commute hours can quickly lead to heavy backups and hazardous driving conditions on busy interstates. Even collisions involving a small number of vehicles may create extended delays when lanes or ramps become partially blocked.
Drivers are encouraged to reduce speed near crash scenes, maintain safe following distances, and remain alert for sudden traffic slowdowns. Emergency officials also remind motorists to move over for first responders working along highways whenever possible.
