Los Angeles, CA (July 3, 2026) – A four-vehicle crash caused significant traffic delays this Friday morning on Interstate 5 in the Sun Valley area of Los Angeles.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at approximately 9:08 a.m. on July 3, on southbound Interstate 5 just north of the Lankershim Boulevard off-ramp.
Initial reports indicated a two-vehicle collision blocking the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes. As responders arrived, authorities determined the incident involved four vehicles, including a Toyota Corolla, a white Tesla, a gray SUV, and a red GMC SUV. A blue Nissan Quest and a Chevrolet Equinox were also reported at the scene as traffic backups developed and responders worked to clear the roadway.
Several vehicles came to rest in the traffic lanes, prompting requests for traffic breaks and tow trucks to safely remove disabled vehicles. By late morning, at least one vehicle had left the scene under its own power, while another was towed by a private tow service.
Authorities did not immediately release information regarding injuries or the cause of the crash. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
